What makes tallow soap different from regular soap?

Unlike commercial soaps that often contain synthetic detergents and harsh chemicals, our tallow soap is 100% Natural and made with pure ingredients. Tallow is rich in skin-loving fats and vitamins, providing a creamy lather that cleanses without stripping moisture, leaving skin soft and nourished.

What is the production process of handmade soaps compared to machine made?

Handmade soaps are never going to have the factory-line consistency expected of a machine-made soap. This is the beauty of handmade! Handmade soap will differ from batch to batch in colour and sometimes surface texture. We are making soaps on the farm and even the slightest change in temperature and humidity can affect the overall finish of the soaps – as well as very many natural environmental aspects that change day to day. When you see that one batch is slightly different from the other it is a good thing - it shows we are working alongside nature and it’s seasons and staying true to our purpose that creates solutions from the land, not a lab.

Can I use Tallow Soap on my face?

Our Tallow soap is a true wonder bar. Is it gentle and moisturising so wont dry out skin but is soft enough to cleanse your skin and also removes makeup!

Is tallow soap suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes! Our soap is free from synthetic fragrances, dyes, and preservatives, making it ideal for sensitive skin. The unscented version offers a completely natural cleanse, while the Orange & Sweet Clove variant provides a gentle, uplifting scent from pure essential oils.

How do I know the beef fat used in your products is from a safe source?

The tallow we use is from our sister brand, Ossa and is from pasture raised organic cattle in Bedfordshire. It is 100% natural and isn’t bleached or deodorised. This is fat for the food chain so is of the highest quality and is the ONLY fat we use in our products. Our organic farm in Bedfordshire is certified organic and has to ensure they are tested by the Soil Association to retain official organic status. All meat & tallow produced by the farm has a Safety data sheet to provide information about the traceability of the animals and that they are fit for the food chain. Each batch of product we make is linked to the batch of fat it was made from so there is 100% traceability on all our products.

My Soap has an uneven texture?

As the weather cools, so does the soap as per how it responds to the pouring process. When it is cooler in weather, it cools quicker around the edges of the mould when poured, and slower in the middle (sometimes leaving a small dip or bump).

My Soap has a white layer of powder?

Sometimes they can have a dusty layer called soda ash on top. This is a reaction when the fresh soap is hardening in the mould - its reacting to the air as it cures. It is perfectly harmless and just washes off with using the soap. It doesn’t diminish the actual quality of the soap use or effect lather or longevity.
